The sprint programme is designed as a development pathway, allowing athletes to progress from fundamentals through to competitive sprint performance.
Sprint Fundamentals
£40 per month
Sprint Fundamentals introduces young athletes to the basics of sprinting in a fun and structured environment.
Athletes learn the foundations of good running mechanics, coordination and speed development through drills and short sprints.
The focus is on building confidence, movement skills and enjoyment of sprinting, while preparing athletes for progression into the Development Group.
Typical age: 11–13

Sprint Development
£55 per month
Sprint Development focuses on improving sprint technique, acceleration and running efficiency for athletes who want to take their speed development more seriously.
Athletes begin to learn the key technical elements of sprinting, including acceleration mechanics, posture, stride rhythm and race preparation.
Training is designed to help athletes improve their performance in sprint events while preparing them to progress into the Event Squad.
Typical age: 13–16
Training: Mondays and Saturdays

Sprint Event Squad
£75 per month
The Sprint Event Squad is for athletes who are committed to competing in sprint events from 60m to 400m.
Training is structured around the key elements of sprint performance, including acceleration, maximum velocity, speed endurance, race preparation and gym work.
Athletes follow a personal structured programme designed to help them improve their sprint performance and compete successfully at club, regional and national level.
Typical age: 16+
Training: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
(5.5 hours per week)
Pay-as-you-go sessions are available for occasional attendance. Athletes training regularly are encouraged to join on a monthly membership.
A small number of supported places are available each year for families experiencing financial difficulty. Please contact us in confidence if this applies to you.
Club Affiliation and Membership
Our sprint programme operates as an affiliated athletics club with Athletics Northern Ireland, the governing body for athletics in Northern Ireland.
All athletes who train and compete with the club are required to hold a valid Athletics NI membership. This membership provides athletes with official registration within the sport and allows them to compete in recognised athletics competitions.
Athletics NI Membership Benefits
Athletes registered with Athletics NI receive a number of benefits, including:
• Eligibility to compete in Athletics NI and UK Athletics licensed competitions
• Official athlete registration and competition results tracking
• Insurance cover during club training and competitions
• Access to the Athletics NI competition pathway and championships
• Support for athlete development within the sport
Membership Fees
Athletics NI membership is paid annually and is separate from the club training fees.
Club membership is £20 per year for athletes under 15 and £30 per year for athletes aged 15 and over. Membership is paid upon registration with the club and is then renewed annually for the 1st April each year.
Athletes/Parents joining the club for the first time will be guided through the Athletics NI registration process.
